Artist Jacopo Miliani presents a new performance for DRAF Studio, working with contemporary choreographer Eve Stainton and stars and icons of London's voguing scene divaD Magnifique, Prince Maya Magnifique and Benjamin Milan. Within Miliani's playful mise-en-scene, the dancers' gestures and attitudes concoct a series of flirtatious games. Throwing Balls at Night is inspired by Jeux, a 1913 poème-dansé (‘danced poem’) collaboration by Claude Debussy, Sergei Diaghilev and Vaslav Nijinsky, which features a young trio frolicking during an evening of tennis.
With the support of nctm e l’arte.
DRAF Studio is supported by Arts Council England and DRAF Galleries Circle.
